So there is a leak of a U2 press kit that might disappear anytime. It contains clips from the opening night concert. It does reveal that they still have trouble playing one of my favorite songs live: Breathe, which opens the concert. No clip of Moment of Surrender, which I did want to hear live to see what they did with it. A funny part comes when all the fans they interview afterwards show their very drunk appreciation of the concert.

The best part however is that at the beginning and the end of the video is a clip from what appears to be a new U2 song, and a very cool one at that. It is a soulful tune with a Moroccan beat. Lyrics begin at the end of the clip.

So you're not a fan of live cds, I remember that. But your feeling on concerts and U2 concerts?

Concerts in general are too loud for me. I get easily sensory overloaded. Movie theaters are almost too much. I decided to brave it for U2 though-almost the only concert I have been too. I have watched about twelve concerts on DVD though and decided that I probably haven't missed much in paying way too much money to be a nervous wreck when I leave. I'm too picky. If they don't really make the music come alive by adapting it to fit the moment, or have a set list or background stuff that conveys some sort of message, or have a front man that is an amazing performer, I'm not that into it. I love listening to Tori Amos live (though she has officially gone off the deep end); she has this amazing ability to make her songs come alive and fit the moment, and her covers are amazing.

Oh, and besides enjoying the U2 concert a lot, I also went to see U23D in the theaters about ten times. Loved it. The volume wasn't as loud as the concert and it still gave that amazing U2 feeling.
